Coinbase Expands AI Access with New Financial Account

Share

Coinbase is expanding its services to include access for artificial intelligence (AI) agents. According to Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, the exchange is building a financial account designed specifically for AI.

The company's current documentation shows that its 'Coinbase for Agents' service already supports isolated portfolios and allows agents to execute trades in cryptocurrencies, derivatives, equities, and portfolio management tools.

Coinbase users can limit an agent's exposure by funding a separate portfolio with controlled account permissions. The exchange also warns that AI agents may misinterpret instructions, and users remain responsible for authorized actions.
