Coinbase Expands Beyond Spot Crypto with 'Everything Exchange' Strategy
Coinbase Global is expanding its offerings beyond spot cryptocurrency trading through its 'Everything Exchange' strategy, which includes derivatives, prediction markets, traditional and tokenized equities, and commodities-related contracts.
The company's addressable market has broadened significantly over the past year, according to Chief Financial Officer Alesia Haas. Coinbase now operates across four trading verticals: spot crypto, derivatives, traditional equities, and tokenized equities for non-US customers.
Haas highlighted derivatives and prediction markets as products requiring scaling and showing strong new product-market fit within the exchange strategy. The company is prioritizing growth in these areas, along with stablecoins and payments.
