Coinbase Expands Crypto Lending to Include More Assets
Coinbase is expanding its crypto lending business beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum, adding support for XRP, DOGE, ADA, and LTC. This move comes as the company pushes towards becoming an 'everything app' for its users.
According to regulatory filings, Coinbase held $17.23 billion in XRP on its platform last week. The exchange also reported $27.28 billion of 'other crypto assets', excluding Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and USDC, at the end of Q4.
Coinbase users can currently borrow up to $5 million in USDC against Bitcoin and up to $1 million in USDC against Ethereum, with over $1.9 billion in loan originations to date.
