Coinbase Expands Regulated Futures Access in Canada with Crypto Derivatives
Coinbase has expanded its services in Canada by launching regulated crypto derivatives for eligible traders. This move provides Canadian investors with new tools to manage exposure and take directional positions, a feature previously unavailable through regulated platforms within their country.
The derivatives framework now offers 23 perpetual and dated futures tied to various assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, as well as five commodity futures covering gold, silver, and oil. Additionally, Coinbase provides index futures, such as COIN50.
One of the key features of this offering is that nano-sized contracts can lower upfront capital requirements, allowing eligible traders to use leverage of up to 10 times. This could appeal to sophisticated investors seeking greater flexibility.
