Coinbase Expands to UK, Offers 24/5 American Stock Trading
Coinbase has expanded its services to UK customers by introducing 24/5 American stock trading. Qualified British users can now access around 4,000 US equities with zero-commission trades and fractional ownership starting at just £1.
The platform accepts both British pounds and USDC as funding options for stock purchases. This move aligns with Coinbase's broader 'Everything Exchange' vision, which aims to consolidate various financial services into a single application.
Coinbase rolled out this service on August 6 and will proceed gradually throughout Britain. Members of Coinbase One receive unlimited rewards when they use USDC for transactions. The company plans to introduce tokenized stock products at a future date, which may mirror traditional US equity performance and include shareholder benefits like dividend distributions.
