Coinbase Expands Tokenized Stock Lineup with Six New Additions
Coinbase has expanded its tokenized stock lineup on Base, adding six new tickers to bring the total to ten. The newcomers include Amazon (AMZNc), Microsoft (MSFTc), SpaceX (SPCXc), Tesla (TSLAc), SanDisk (SNDKc), and MicroStrategy (MSTRc), formerly known as Strategy.
The original four tokenized stocks, launched on August 24, were Nvidia (NVDAc), Apple (AAPLc), Meta (METAc), and Alphabet (GOOGLc). These digital tokens represent a 1:1 beneficial claim on an underlying share held in regulated custody by Alpaca.
The expansion of tokenized stocks on Base unlocks capabilities that traditional brokerage accounts can't match. Trading happens 24/7, and fractional ownership means users don't need to buy full shares. The tokens also live on Coinbase's Ethereum Layer 2 network, plugging directly into the broader DeFi ecosystem.
