Coinbase Expands Tokenized Stock Offerings with Six New Assets
Coinbase has expanded its tokenized stock offerings on Base by adding six new assets. The move comes after the platform's initial batch of four tokens, including Apple and Alphabet, generated over $227 million in decentralized exchange volume within a month.
The new additions include Amazon (AMZNc), Microsoft (MSFTc), Strategy (MSTRc), SanDisk (SNDKc), SpaceX (SPCXc), and Tesla (TSLAc). These tokens can be used to gain exposure to five publicly traded companies and privately held SpaceX, and can be traded on the Ethereum layer-2 network.
The expansion brings the total number of live tokenized stocks on Base to 10. The platform uses Base's B20 standard, which represents beneficial interests in shares held through regulated custody. Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd. issues a matching B20 token against each underlying share or eligible equity interest.
