Coinbase Expands UK Platform with 4,000 US-Listed Stocks
Coinbase has expanded its UK trading platform to allow eligible customers to trade nearly 4,000 US-listed stocks alongside digital assets. This marks another step in Coinbase's push towards becoming a broader financial platform.
The service offers commission-free trading and supports fractional shares, allowing investors to buy portions of higher-priced stocks. Trades settle in US dollars on a T+1 basis.
UK customers can fund their accounts in pounds, but foreign exchange conversion may introduce additional costs despite Coinbase's zero-commission pricing. The arrangement means the stocks remain subject to conventional securities regulation rather than blockchain settlement.
