Coinbase is integrating its international derivatives trading infrastructure with Deribit, a move that will enable users to trade digital-asset options on Coinbase.

The existing perpetual futures system operated by Coinbase International Exchange will migrate to 'Deribit by Coinbase' on September 9. This integration will bolster liquidity, execution speed, and risk management for users.

Existing perpetual futures positions and balances will be transferred automatically to the new system without requiring users to create a new account or complete know-your-customer verification again.

The integration will also add options trading to the Coinbase app and website. At launch, the feature will be available to users in select countries outside the US and will support options based on underlying assets including Bitcoin and Ether.
