Coinbase Kills Coinbase Pro, Merges Features into Main Account
Coinbase Pro, once a go-to platform for experienced traders due to its advanced trading features and lower fees, has officially been retired. The exchange announced in June 2022 that it would fold Coinbase Pro's functionality into the main Coinbase account, and as of November 20, 2023, the separate Pro platform is no longer accessible.
The migration was seamless for most users, with balances automatically transferred to their regular Coinbase accounts in phases. However, any open buy or sell orders on Coinbase Pro were cancelled during the transition, requiring traders to re-place them on the new platform, Coinbase Advanced Trade.
Coinbase Advanced Trade retains all the advanced features of Coinbase Pro, including real-time order books, depth charts, and charting powered by TradingView. The platform also offers a wide range of trading pairs, with maker fees as low as 0.0% at the highest volume tiers.
