Coinbase Misses Q2 CY2026 Sales Estimates
Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) reported disappointing sales in Q2 CY2026, falling short of analyst expectations. Revenue came in at $1.22 billion, down 18.5% from the same period last year.
The company's GAAP loss of $1.36 per share was also significantly below estimates. This marks a decline from its previous quarter's free cash flow margin of 12.9%, now sitting at 16.2%. Despite this, Coinbase's market capitalization remains high at $42.18 billion.
The company's revenue growth has been sluggish over the last five years, with an annualized rate of just 5%. However, it has accelerated in recent years, reaching 15.4% over the last two years. Looking ahead, analysts project a 5.1% increase in revenue over the next 12 months.
Coinbase's cash profitability is one area where the company excels. Its free cash flow margin averaged an impressive 33.7% over the last two years. This expansion of its margin over the last five years suggests a reduction in capital intensity, as free cash flow profitability rose while operating profitability remained flat.
