Coinbase Prepares for Quantum Computing Threat

Coinbase has outlined its strategy to prepare for the advent of quantum computing, warning that preparations should begin well before the technology becomes practical.

The company is developing a post-quantum version of its key management system and reviewing all cryptographic infrastructure. It's also co-hosting a workshop with Stanford University in August to discuss migration strategies.

Coinbase has joined the newly established Bitcoin Security Consortium as a founding member, contributing engineering expertise and funding to strengthen Bitcoin's resilience against quantum threats.
