Coinbase Pulls Plug on Loopring Trading Amid Project's Shutdown
Coinbase is removing Loopring (LRC) trading on its platform today, August 7th. The suspension will affect all Coinbase-hosted dollar markets, including Simple and Advanced Trade, Coinbase Exchange, and Coinbase Prime. However, customers can still access their LRC balances and make withdrawals.
The move follows a June 28 announcement from Loopring that it would be shutting down its DEX trading platform and going offline. The project has since returned approximately $7.4 million in ETH and 72 ERC-20 tokens to paid Ethereum mainnet addresses across 142 batches.
Outside of Coinbase, other exchanges such as Kraken and OKX still list LRC/USD and LRC/EUR markets, but these listings do not guarantee deposit, withdrawal, or execution access for users. The broader market is already concentrated, with BitDelta accounting for 48.49% of reported volume.
