Coinbase Q2 Earnings Miss Amid Market Volatility
Coinbase's second-quarter results for 2026 showed that despite missing Wall Street expectations on earnings, the company made significant progress in market share gains and strategic diversification.
The cryptocurrency exchange posted a net loss of $359 million, or $1.36 per share, which was worse than the $0.01 loss analysts had forecast. Revenue of $1.2 billion fell short of estimates by $150 million, or 11.11%, causing shares to drop 6.53% in after-hours trading.
Coinbase emphasized its ability to maintain profitability discipline as market conditions pressured near-term results. The company achieved an all-time high 10.3% share of global crypto trading volume and maintained a streak of 14 consecutive quarters with positive adjusted EBITDA, underscoring management's cost discipline.
