Coinbase Q2 Earnings: Revenue Misses Expectations Amid Crypto Market Challenges
Coinbase released its Q2 2026 earnings report on July 31, with CEO Brian Armstrong highlighting achievements such as a new high of 10.3% crypto trading market share and doubling prediction market revenue.
However, the report showed that Coinbase's total revenue for Q2 2026 was $1.22 billion, down 19% year-over-year and 14% quarter-over-quarter, missing market expectations of $1.29 billion.
Crypto spot trading remains the backbone of Coinbase's revenue, with transaction revenue at $599 million, but this declined by 30% year-over-year and 20% quarter-over-quarter, reverting to 2023 levels.
The company's net loss reached $359 million, marking its third consecutive quarter of net losses. Armstrong stated that he believes Bitcoin will make a strong comeback, and Coinbase is developing new businesses to build its 'everything exchange' concept.
