Coinbase Rebrands Base App Back to Coinbase Wallet

Coinbase is rebranding its Base App back to Coinbase Wallet on September 8. The move marks a shift in focus towards trading across multiple blockchain networks, rather than social networking.

Ryan Kass, head of product at Coinbase Wallet, stated that the rebrand reflects the app's expansion beyond Base into a multichain trading platform. The company believes the familiar Coinbase Wallet name better supports its broader 'everything exchange' strategy.

The launch of perpetual futures on Hyperliquid and support for other crypto networks, including Solana, demonstrate Coinbase Wallet's return to its roots as a place to trade almost anything, anywhere, and quickly.
