Coinbase Revenue Down 21%, Tokenized Stocks Launched
Coinbase's Q2 transaction revenue fell by 21% compared to the previous quarter, as global spot crypto volume declined by 25%. This decrease in trading volumes may put pressure on the company's revenue going forward.
However, Coinbase is working to diversify its income streams through growing subscriptions and non-trading businesses. The company has also made significant progress in expanding its tokenized stock offerings.
In June, Coinbase launched fully-backed 1:1 tokenized U.S. stocks on-chain, allowing holders to trade, redeem, and receive dividends. This move is part of a broader trend among exchanges to offer tokenized stock products.
