Coinbase Revenue Slumps 8.5% Amid Cooling Crypto Trading Volumes
Coinbase and Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, have reported their Q2 earnings for 2026. Coinbase brought in $1.29 billion in revenue, meeting analyst consensus estimates but marking an 8.5% decline from Q1's $1.41 billion. The drop can be attributed to dwindling trading volumes, which are essential to the company's business model.
Coinbase has been working to diversify its income streams beyond trading fees, introducing subscription and services revenue, staking products, and a layer-2 network called Base.
Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, saw $122.9 million in Q2 revenue, close to the consensus estimate of around $122 million. The company's stock price is closely tied to Bitcoin's movements.
