Coinbase Reverts Wallet Back to Original Name After Trading Pivot

Coinbase has reverted its wallet back to its original name, Coinbase Wallet. This change comes after a one-year experiment where it was rebranded as Base App in July 2025.

The app's focus has shifted back to trading, with users now able to access leveraged bets, prediction markets, and tokenized shares across over 10 blockchain networks.

Base is Coinbase's own blockchain network, launched in 2023. The rebranding put the network's name on the consumer app, alongside a feed, messaging, and mini apps.

Chief executive Brian Armstrong had previously called time on creator coins, which let fans buy a stake in a post or personality. These tokens spiked on attention but collapsed.
