Coinbase Rolls Out Simplified Perpetual Futures Trading with Pulse Mode
Coinbase has introduced Pulse Mode for mobile perpetual futures trading in its renamed Wallet app. The feature presents a simplified interface for opening and managing leveraged long or short positions, available inside Coinbase Wallet.
According to Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, Pulse Mode is a new way for traders to access perpetual contracts through the wallet's application. He announced the feature on September 12, sharing an image of the new interface and inviting users to download the updated application.
The company has not published detailed Pulse Mode fees, leverage limits or regional eligibility publicly yet. However, it is clear that Pulse Mode simplifies the mobile interface for perpetual futures trading, emphasizing market direction, position size, and execution.
Coinbase's Wallet app remains self-custodial, supporting crypto, tokenized assets, predictions, commodities, and perpetual markets together. The company has not confirmed whether Pulse Mode constitutes a new derivatives product or execution venue.
