Coinbase Rolls Out Tokenized Stocks and Derivatives in June Expansion
Coinbase Global, Inc.'s Class A stock (NASDAQ:COIN) has made significant strides in expanding its offerings. In June, the company launched fully backed 1:1 tokenized U.S. stocks, which are tradeable and redeemable for shares. Additionally, these tokenized positions are eligible to receive dividends tied to them.
The tokenized U.S. stocks were rolled out alongside a UK derivatives suite of over 170 contracts, including perpetuals, futures, and options. This suite is geared towards professional investors in the UK. The perpetuals have a maximum leverage of up to 50x, while the dated futures offer up to 20x leverage.
Coinbase's expansion into tokenized U.S. stocks and derivatives marks an important step in its efforts to provide users with more options for trading.
