Coinbase Seeks Approval for Leveraged Stock Trading in US Markets
Coinbase has made a significant move in its efforts to bring leveraged stock trading to US markets, filing for SEC notice registrations and CFTC product approval.
The exchange is seeking to offer single-stock perpetual contracts with up to 20 times leverage on individual names such as Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla.
This move builds on Coinbase's existing international offering, which allows non-US users to trade stock perpetuals with leverage.
Coinbase Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad stated that the exchange plans to work closely with both regulators to bring the product onshore, calling coordination between the two agencies 'long overdue.'
