Coinbase Seeks SEC Approval for 24-Hour Stock Perpetual Futures Trading
Coinbase has filed registration documents with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to offer 24-hour trading of stock perpetual futures in the US.
The company aims to provide a regulated channel for US investors to trade perpetual futures tied to stocks like Apple and Nvidia, which are already available overseas.
Coinbase's chief policy officer, Faryar Shirzad, said demand for these products has been established in international markets, and the company wants to bring this opportunity to US investors.
The move comes as efforts grow in the US to expand perpetual futures and 24-hour trading beyond crypto to traditional assets like stocks and crude oil.
