Coinbase Seeks SEC Approval for Equity Perpetuals
Coinbase has submitted registration documents to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to offer equity perpetuals, according to a social media post by the crypto exchange's chief policy officer on Thursday.
Perpetuals, also known as perps, are derivative contracts that track underlying assets and do not expire, enabling traders to hold positions indefinitely without roll-over requirements.
The product still requires approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as stated by Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad in a post on X.
