Coinbase Seeks SEC Approval for Stock Perps

Share

Coinbase is pushing to bring perpetual contracts tied to individual stocks to the US market.

The company has filed notices with the SEC for its derivatives exchange and broker, Coinbase Financial Markets, in a bid to introduce stock perps in the country.

These products would allow traders to bet on individual stocks with leverage 24/7, even when the regular stock market is closed. This could be a significant development for US traders who currently have limited access to perpetual futures contracts tied to individual stocks.

Coinbase already offers stock perpetuals outside the US, but this move would mark a major expansion of its services into traditional markets.
