Coinbase Shares Plummet Amid Shift in Earnings Outlook
Coinbase's shares have seen significant volatility over the past week, following the passage of the Clarity Act.
The stock rose 9.6% on Tuesday to $175.85 after the Senate passed a key milestone for the legislation, but declined in each subsequent session, ultimately dropping 10.0% from Tuesday's closing level to $158.29 by Friday.
The decline has led analysts to project a preliminary Q2 loss of 41 cents per share, compared to earlier forecasts of a profit of 62 cents per share.
Coinbase will release its earnings results after the market close on Thursday, with investors set to focus on transaction revenue, USDC balances, and operating expenses in relation to the updated outlook.
