Coinbase has moved to third place in the XRP rich list after its XRP balance saw an unexpected surge of 4,870% within an hour.
The massive increase pushed Coinbase's total XRP holdings above 5.5 billion tokens, sparking speculation that the exchange had received billions of dollars in new tokens.
However, XRPScan later clarified that no new transfer occurred, attributing the surge to a wallet identification update that added 146 previously unlabeled Coinbase wallets to the exchange's balance.
