Coinbase Solana Validators Deliver Higher Rewards and More Reliable Performance
Coinbase's Solana validators performed better than the network average in Q2 2026, delivering higher rewards and more reliable performance. They staked 41.63M SOL across 23 validators in 7 countries, with a 9.72% share of all staked SOL.
The team at Coinbase ran only Solana Foundation-aligned software and maintained their risk-adjusted operating posture throughout the quarter. Their rewards averaged 6.52% APY, outperforming the network's 6.38% APY by +14 bps.
Coinbase has also made significant strides in improving validator reliability, with a skip rate of only 0.035%, compared to the network average of 0.136%. This achievement was driven by their innovative use of double-signing protection and near-zero-downtime deployments.
As the Solana ecosystem continues to evolve, Coinbase is preparing for the upcoming Alpenglow upgrade, which promises to significantly improve finality times. The team has been actively testing the new consensus mechanism on a live community-cluster node and has validated the required vote-account changes.
