Coinbase Stock Breaks Out Above $180 Amid Broader Crypto Rally
Coinbase stock surged 8.2% to $186.49 as Bitcoin and Ethereum saw significant gains, sparking hope that Coinbase may be on the cusp of its next major leg higher.
The broader market has provided a powerful catalyst for Coinbase's recovery, with Bitcoin gaining 21% this week and Ethereum rising by 29.6% over seven days.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $606 million in net inflows on August 20, while Ether ETFs added another $221 million, reinforcing the demand narrative behind the latest rally.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has also turned more constructive on the market, stating that crypto spot trading could be 'on the cusp' of its next bull market.
The company's setup is bigger than Bitcoin spot trading this time, with October, November, and December traditionally being strong months following Bitcoin halving cycles. Coinbase reported $1.2 billion in Q2 2026 net revenue, including $555.1 million from subscription and services revenue.
A daily close above $200 would confirm that buyers have successfully reclaimed a major psychological and technical barrier for Coinbase stock. If Bitcoin maintains its momentum and Coinbase converts $196-$200 into support, the stock could enter a new leg toward $220 and potentially $235-$240.
