Coinbase Stock Drops 5% on Revenue Miss, CEO Blames Tough Market Conditions

Share

Coinbase's stock, COIN, dropped by 5% in after-market hours on Thursday, July 30th, due to a revenue miss in Q2. The exchange reported total revenue of $1.220B, which was 5% short of the estimated $1.284B.

This represented a 14% quarterly decline from Q1 and a 19% decrease from the previous year. Despite this, Coinbase's net loss was only $359M.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong attributed the weak performance to 'tough market conditions in Q2.' However, he noted that the exchange continued to execute its vision and build through challenging times.
