Coinbase's stock has gained around 25% since August 19 and is currently trading at USD 185.00, but it remains down 20% year-to-date and approximately 40% over the past year.

The surge in Bitcoin prices, which briefly surpassed USD 80,000, has driven the increase in Coinbase's stock price.

Coinbase generates most of its revenue from trading fees and also earns money from cryptocurrency custody, staking, stablecoins, Coinbase One subscriptions, derivatives, and prediction markets.

The company aims to evolve into the 'Everything Exchange', where customers can trade not only cryptocurrencies but also stocks, futures, and other financial products.

Despite a weak first half of 2026, with revenue falling by approximately 25% year-over-year to USD 2.63 billion, Coinbase increased its share of crypto trading volume from 9.1% to a record 10.3%, and revenues and contracts on the prediction markets grew by 106%.
