Coinbase Stock Surges 10% Amid Push for US Stock Perpetuals
Coinbase stock saw a notable increase of 10.14% on September 3 as the exchange moved closer to offering U.S. stock perpetuals.
The rally coincided with broader recoveries in Bitcoin, Robinhood, and U.S. equities, with COIN closing at $192.70, up from its previous close of $174.96. Trading volume increased significantly, reaching about 13.64 million shares, versus 5.20 million the day before.
Coinbase filed notices for regulated U.S. stock-perpetuals routes, with traders watching closely as regulators considered the proposed products. The exchange's Chief Policy Officer, Faryar Shirzad, stated that these registrations were just the first step and that Commodity Futures Trading Commission product approval would come next.
