Coinbase Stock Surges on Blockchain-Based Tokenized Stocks and Mortgage Partnership
Coinbase's stock price has surged by 5.35% following the company's announcement of expanded product offerings, including blockchain-based tokenized stocks and a partnership with Better Mortgage to introduce Bitcoin- and USDC-backed mortgages in the U.S.
The company made it possible for non-U.S. investors to trade selected U.S. equities as blockchain tokens on the Base network, using Chainlink's price feeds and oracle support for on-chain use.
Coinbase has also been pressing U.S. regulators, including the CFTC and SEC, for clarity on oversight of perpetual futures and prediction markets.
The stock is trading above its 20-day ($157.36) and 50-day ($159.44) moving averages, indicating strong short- and medium-term bullish momentum. However, it remains below the 200-day average ($197.22), signaling longer-term resistance.
