Coinbase's Q2 earnings report has revealed a sharp decline in trading revenue and subscription performance, further exacerbating the downturn seen in Q1. Trading revenue fell by 19% year-over-year, while subscription revenue dropped by 12% and 5% respectively.

The stablecoin market also suffered a significant impact, with USDC's overall market value shrinking to $73.5 billion. However, Coinbase continued to increase its holdings of USDC, accounting for 26% of the circulating volume.

Coinbase's core profit turned negative due to high revenue pressure and relatively rigid expenses, despite reducing costs through layoffs and other measures. The company repurchased only $120 million worth of shares in Q2, down from $1.1 billion in the previous quarter.
