Coinbase Surges Past 10% Market Share Despite $359M Loss
Coinbase, the US-based cryptocurrency exchange, has reached an all-time high of 10.3% market share in global crypto trading volume for the second quarter of 2026, despite a net loss of $359 million on revenue that fell short of Wall Street estimates.
This milestone marks the third consecutive quarter of market-share gains for Coinbase, which now brands itself as its 'Everything Exchange'. The company's crypto trading volume market share rose to 10.3%, up from 9.1% in the first quarter and surpassing the 8.6% record reported just two quarters earlier.
Coinbase processed $146.4 billion in crypto spot trading volume during the quarter, while reaching an all-time high in crypto derivatives trading volume market share for the third straight quarter.
