Coinbase Takes Hit as Wall Street Digs in for Long Haul
Coinbase's quarterly earnings report has left Wall Street analysts divided over when the cryptocurrency exchange will recover from its recent slump.
The company reported a net loss of $570 million in Q2, down from a profit of $443 million in the same period last year. Revenue dropped to $1.16 billion, down 31% from Q2 2022.
Some analysts are predicting that Coinbase will bounce back in the coming months, citing factors such as increased adoption and growing demand for digital assets. However, others are more cautious, warning of a potential decline in cryptocurrency prices which could further impact the exchange's performance.
'We expect a strong recovery in the second half,' said Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, adding that 'we remain confident in our long-term growth prospects.'
