Coinbase Takes Regulatory Step Towards Derivatives-Based Bets

Share

Coinbase is taking its first regulatory step towards allowing US investors to make leveraged, round-the-clock bets on stocks without owning them.

Ryan VanGrack, vice chair and head of corporate affairs at Coinbase, discussed this move in a recent interview with Bloomberg Crypto.

VanGrack mentioned that Coinbase is working towards letting US investors use derivatives to bet on the price movements of various assets. This would allow them to make leveraged bets without actually owning the underlying stock, creating more flexibility and potential for profit.

Anthony Armstrong has recently joined Coinbase, which VanGrack also touched upon during the discussion.
