Coinbase Targets US Launch for Single-Stock Perpetual Contracts
Coinbase has filed notice registrations with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as part of its plans to offer single-stock perpetual contracts in the US. The company's derivatives exchange, Coinbase Derivatives, and broker, Coinbase Financial Markets, have submitted registration documents to the SEC.
According to the company, the next step will be obtaining approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which would allow it to offer single-stock perpetual contracts in the US. The exact timeline for when this will happen is unclear.
Coinbase has been expanding its offerings in recent months, including launching tokenized stocks and offering derivatives on major assets such as Apple and Tesla.
