Coinbase Threatens to Move Operations Abroad Without Comprehensive Crypto Regulation
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has warned that some of the company's operations may move outside the US if comprehensive cryptocurrency regulation is not implemented in the country.
In an interview on Capitol Hill, Armstrong emphasized the importance of a clear and lasting legal framework for Coinbase to continue growing in the US.
Armstrong stated that companies, investors, and users can only make long-term plans in a predictable regulatory environment, which is currently lacking in the US.
Coinbase has been expanding its operations globally by applying for licenses in different countries, including those with clearer regulations such as the European Union's MiCA regulation.
