Coinbase Tokenized Stocks Launch on Base with Chainlink Pricing Feeds
Coinbase has taken another step towards making tokenized equities more usable onchain by launching its tokenized US stocks on Base, a platform that enables decentralized finance (DeFi) applications to interact with real-world assets. This move is part of Coinbase's experiment with tokenized equities and brings additional options for users.
The rollout includes an integration with Chainlink Data Feeds, which provides continuous pricing data for DeFi integrations. The feeds reflect the underlying stock prices, applying a Coinbase multiplier to account for dividends and corporate actions.
Each B20 token represents a claim on an underlying share held through a regulated structure involving Alpaca under Abu Dhabi Global Market supervision. The tokens are available to non-US users in eligible jurisdictions and can be traded around the clock.
The launch targets the integration gap between tokenized equities and DeFi's core tooling, aiming to make it easier for lending platforms to assess collateral value and help exchanges manage market-facing price inputs.
