Coinbase Unleashes Pulse Mode for Mobile Perpetual Futures Trading
Coinbase has launched Pulse Mode, a simplified mobile interface for perpetual futures trading, within its self-custodial wallet. This move marks one of the most direct consumer-facing efforts yet in Coinbase's push into derivatives.
Pulse Mode presents a streamlined route to leveraged long and short positions, also known as perps, directly inside the application. Traders can use leverage to amplify their exposure without an expiry date. The feature is available exclusively within Coinbase Wallet, which supports spot crypto, tokenized assets, prediction markets, commodities, and perpetual markets.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong announced the feature on September 12 via X, sharing a screenshot of the new interface and inviting users to download the updated application. However, Armstrong did not provide technical specifications or detailed information about supported markets and risk controls for Pulse Mode.
