Coinbase Unlocks Major US Stocks for Non-US Users on Blockchain
Coinbase has launched tokenized stocks for eligible non-US users on its platform. This move brings major US stocks onchain, allowing investors to access and trade them in a decentralized manner. The tokenized shares are backed 1:1 by underlying shares held through a regulated custodian.
The launch includes fractional shares tied to Apple Inc., Nvidia Corp., Meta Platforms Inc., and Alphabet Inc. These tokens can be held in self-custody wallets and transferred across supported Base applications.
Chainlink Supplies Continuous Stock Pricing
Coinbase has partnered with Chainlink to provide continuous pricing for the tokenized securities. This allows decentralized exchanges, lending markets, and structured-product platforms to evaluate the tokenized securities outside traditional market hours.
Abu Dhabi Framework Supports the Offering
Coinbase established its international tokenization hub after receiving Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market. The Abu Dhabi approval permits tokenized-securities activities, including arranging investment transactions and providing custody services.
