Coinbase Unveils Commission-Free Stock Trading for All U.S. Users

Coinbase has rolled out stock and exchange-traded fund trading to all U.S. users, allowing customers to buy and sell equities alongside crypto within a single app.

The launch includes commission-free trading, fractional shares, and instant funding through USD or USDC, with approximately 6,000 securities currently supported.

Coinbase plans to expand the number of available securities in the coming weeks. The company also aims to introduce stock perpetual futures for non-U.S. users through Coinbase Bermuda Ltd., subject to regulatory approval.

The rollout follows Coinbase's expansion of prediction markets to all 50 U.S. states last month, and a partnership with Yahoo Finance that enables users to move directly from researching an asset on Yahoo Finance to executing a trade on Coinbase in a single click.
