Coinbase Unveils Multi-Portfolio Feature for Advanced Users
Users of Coinbase Advanced now have the ability to create up to 25 separate portfolios for different trading strategies, allowing them to segregate assets by strategy or risk profile. This feature is accessible through the Portfolio page on Coinbase Advanced and operates independently within a verified account, eliminating the need for additional KYC friction or separate funding sources.
The roots of this feature date back to December 2019 when Coinbase Pro introduced sub-accounts for users who needed to segregate strategies or manage multiple client accounts. The current iteration expands that concept with a higher portfolio cap and tighter integration into the platform's evolving toolset.
This development is part of Coinbase's broader ambition to integrate traditional assets like stocks and ETFs alongside crypto, making it a significant move in the competitive landscape. For institutional investors and fund managers, managing multiple client strategies within a single platform with clear segregation and audit trails solves an operational problem.
