Coinbase Unveils Tokenized US Equities on Base for Non-US Users
Coinbase has launched tokenized US equities on its Base platform, allowing non-US users to hold shares in self-custodial wallets. Four technology stocks - Nvidia (NVDAc), Apple (AAPLc), Meta (METAc), and Alphabet (GOOGLc) - were made available, with about $4.5 million minted and $3 million of decentralized exchange liquidity on day one.
The launch saw a combined onchain value of around $4.55 million, against roughly $3.06 million of decentralized exchange liquidity and $10.8 million of 24-hour volume. Pricing held close to the underlying, with NVDAc trading at $208.51 against Nvidia's $208.48 close.
Aerodrome holds the deepest pool for each of the four tokens, with a total value locked of over $265.8 million and a market capitalization of $522 million. Base itself carries $5.49 billion in TVL, fourth among all chains behind Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana.
