Coinbase vs CoinDCX: Fees and Features Compared in India
Coinbase and CoinDCX are two prominent cryptocurrency exchanges serving Indian investors. While both platforms cater to Indian users, they have different approaches.
Coinbase has expanded its services in India by offering direct INR deposits and withdrawals since May 31st. It also supports IMPS, UPI, and NEFT/RTGS deposits from verified linked bank accounts, but transaction limits vary depending on the method used.
Coinbase Simple Trade charges fees that differ based on order size, payment method, and market conditions, with a spread included in conversions. In contrast, Coinbase Advanced directly connects users to an order book without embedding a spread; maker and taker fees depend on 30-day trading volume.
CoinDCX, on the other hand, uses transparent volume tiers for its INR spot trading fees, starting at 0.50% for those with less than Rs. 2 lakh in 30-day spot volume. The rate decreases to 0.42% between Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh.
CoinDCX also offers INR-margined futures with up to 100x leverage, as well as crypto options on BTC, ETH, and SOL with zero brokerage for specified notional limits. The platform has over 21.6 million registered users.
