Coinbase Wallet has launched 'pulse mode', a redesigned trading interface for perpetual futures contracts. This feature, which arrived on September 11, aims to make perps more approachable for everyday users.

Pulse mode is a simplified trading layer built on top of Coinbase Wallet's existing infrastructure. It allows users outside the US to access over 290 markets, including crypto assets, tokenized stocks, and commodities, with leverage options up to 50x.

The trades are powered by Hyperliquid, an on-chain order book protocol integrated by Coinbase Wallet in August 2026. All transactions remain self-custodial, meaning the wallet never takes possession of user funds. USDC serves as the primary settlement and collateral asset across the board.

Coinbase Wallet engineer Kerem Gurel described pulse mode as 'a simpler, more fun way to trade perps.' CEO Brian Armstrong encouraged users to download the app and try the new interface.
