Coinbase's Armstrong on Crypto's Role in Emerging AiFi Economy

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has been talking about the concept of Agentic Finance (AiFi), which describes an economy built around AI agents. According to him, crypto assets will play a crucial role in this concept by serving as infrastructure that enables fast transfers for agents.

Armstrong believes that people in the crypto sector often get told to pivot to AI because it's the new trend, but he thinks this approach is misguided. Instead, he sees the growing popularity of AI only supporting the development of the crypto sector.

Crypto assets can provide transparent and fast financial infrastructure for AI agents, which will be everywhere, paying bills, making purchases, keeping records, and acting as financial advisers.
