CoinEx Permanently Closes Following Nine Years of Operation

CoinEx, a nine-year-old centralized cryptocurrency exchange, has announced its permanent closure. The shutdown process began on September 15, 2026, with restrictions on several services, and will conclude on December 22, 2026.

The decision to shut down was made due to falling trading volumes and liquidity, as well as rising regulatory and compliance costs. CoinEx's management concluded that operating risks were too great given the limited revenue potential.

Although new registrations have been closed since September 15, withdrawals remain available until December 22, 2026. The exchange has assured users that their assets are fully backed and safe, with a reserve ratio exceeding 100%.
