CoinEx Shuts Down Amid Crypto Market Challenges and Regulatory Pressures

Share

CoinEx, a Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange, is shutting down due to ongoing difficulties in the crypto market. The company cited low trading volumes and intensified regulatory measures as major challenges.

The exchange will begin winding down its services on September 15, allowing withdrawals until December 22. Founder Haipo Yang acknowledged the significant challenges CoinEx faced in securing a dominant position in the industry.

CoinEx struggled to maintain trading relations with Iranian exchanges after U.S. sanctions were imposed in June. The company assured customers that their assets remain fully backed and withdrawable.
